Dr. Archelle Georgiou is a physician, healthcare executive, and nationally recognized health media expert who brings a rare 360-degree perspective to navigating complex medical decisions.
With over 30 years of experience across medicine, managed care, investment banking, and healthcare innovation, Dr. Georgiou has held senior leadership roles including Chief Medical Officer at UnitedHealth Group, healthcare advisor at TripleTree, and Chief Health Officer at Starkey Hearing Technologies. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Children’s Minnesota and Nuwellis (Nasdaq: NUWE), and is Executive in Residence at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.
Dr. Georgiou is also a trusted public voice in health and medicine. As a TV health journalist for more than 16 years, she has produced over 2,000 segments translating complex medical issues into clear, actionable insights. She appears weekly on KSTP-TV (ABC) and hosts the podcast Speak Up For Your Health. Her work has been featured on CNN and Good Morning America, and she has presented to audiences including the U.S. Congress, World Bank, Mayo Clinic, TEDx, Gallup, and U.S. Aging.
A leading advocate for patient empowerment, Dr. Georgiou is the author of Health Care Choices: 5 Steps to Getting the Medical Care You Want and Need and is widely recognized for helping individuals make informed, intentional decisions about their health and care.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Georgiou co-founded the University of Minnesota COVID-19 Hospitalization Tracking Project, a 30-month national initiative that generated 11 peer-reviewed publications, more than 125 public reports, and two Silver Stevie Awards, while she also delivered 180 television segments to educate the public.
Her broader work spans global health and longevity, including serving as medical correspondent for the Blue Zones expedition in Ikaria, Greece and presenting “Healthy People, Healthy Planet” as part of the United States’ bid for the 2027 World Expo.
Dr. Georgiou received her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and is board-certified in Internal Medicine. She lives with her husband, David, in New York and Minnesota.
